Astronomy

I joined researchers at the CMM Astroinformatics Laboratory for a project related to automated detection and classification of astronomical objects, analysis and classification of transient events, reconstruction of interferometric images, and handling and modelling of astronomical data.
One of the main goals of the project is to implement a pipeline to detect and classify astronomical objects in real time, using the facilities provided by the National Laboratory For High Performance Computing. Such a quick data processing needs for efficient algorithms at each stage of the chain of the pipeline, and here is where the project needs match my research lines.Energy

I also take part in the Network Economics-Optimization and Risk Analysis Laboratory at CMM. Our contribution to this work, which is carried jointly with the Center for Energy University of Chile, is focused on the Network Optimization problems arising from the modelling of the Chilean electricity generation/distribution system.
